Yep, he goes nuts and u have to kill them all and somehow it feels wrong, but you get to know the location. The part you've missed maybe is the Key on his body, actually Triss should find it. Dandelion will be freed no matter what, you can't mess that up. Djikstra will be upset with you if you don't ask about his treasure, but it actually doesn't make a huge impact on the game.
